At Middletown Valley SDA Church we are enthusiastic about good health, clean and active living, and sharing this passion with our local community. Throughout the year, we offer free or minimal-cost classes that help participants to learn about healthy cooking, hear from guest health presenters, and learn about disease-reversing programs.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church has a rich heritage of combining Biblical spirituality with optimal physical and mental health. Adventists have been at the center of some of the most important and revealing medical studies on lifestyle over the last several decades. These studies and their findings have been popularized by National Geographic articles and several books, including The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who've Lived the Longest by Dan Buettner.
Free Plant-Based Cooking Classes
During 2019, we are having ongoing plant-based cooking classes and events lead by our cardiac nurse practitioner, Nadine Martins, DNP, NP-C and her husband Jeffrey Martins, DDS. If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, weight to lose, or would just like to learn to be healthier, we would love to have you! Our first two events of 2019 are a movie night showing Forks Over Knives on January 5 at 5:00 PM and a Plant-Based Cooking Class on January 27 at 3:30 PM. You can find the dates and times for all the events in the Church Calendar. Please click here to register so we can be prepared.
